AN URGENT warning has been issued to drivers in Glasgow after dozens of traffic lights stopped working across the city.
Motorists are facing travel chaos this morning after nearly 40 traffic lights in the city center lost power.
Busy junctions and crossing ground to a standstill amid the power failure.
It is understood that the problems first started in the early hours of the morning.
Glasgow City Council have said they have engineers out in the city trying to fix the blackout.
The local authority says the glitch is connected to power surges and outages overnight.
Engineers are making their way around the 38 traffic lights that aren’t working.
They need to reset each one of the traffic lights in order to restore power.
Council chiefs explained that they hope to have the problem resolved by around lunchtime.
It is unknown how many junctions are affected.
