At around 00:05, the firefighters were notified about a fire in the hall of an economic operator (with a field of activity in the preparation of fibers and spinning of textile fibers) located on the Săvinești platform.
At the scene of the request, forces and means of intervention were assigned from the Roznov Work Point (one fire truck and one SMURD ambulance) and the Piatra-Neamț Fire Department (three fire trucks and a high-capacity ventilator).
Arriving at the indicated place, the firemen found that the fire manifested itself with flame and large smoke emissions at a technological installation located in a hall, with the possibility of propagation to other installations/equipment and to the entire construction. The intervention forces acted to locate and extinguish the fire, but also to evacuate the smoke from inside the hall. The technological facility for processing synthetic yarns (texturing) burned down.
15 people self-evacuated until the intervention forces arrived. No one required medical attention. The probable cause of the fire was the thermal effect caused by a malfunction that occurred during exploitation.
