The victim was immediately taken over by the emergency services and transported to the Neamț County Emergency Hospital to receive specialized medical care.
The driver was subjected to breathalyzer testing after the incident, the results of which indicated that she was not under the influence of alcohol. However, she was taken to hospital where her biological samples were taken to confirm the absence of any substances that could influence the ability to drive.
The police officers from the Road Bureau-Piatra-Neamț have opened a criminal file for the crime of culpable bodily harm, investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
“On April 23 this year, at around 5:20 p.m., the police officers from the Road Bureau-Piatra-Neamț were alerted to the occurrence of a road event, on General Nicolae Dăscălescu boulevard.
From the investigations carried out by the police, it emerged that, while a 67-year-old woman was driving a car, from the direction of Bicaz to Bacău, she allegedly surprised and injured a 37-year-old woman, who was engaged in crossing the street, on the marking pedestrian”, IPJ Neamț transmitted.
