The authorities carried out checks at the Sunwaves festival in the Mamaia resort, one of the most popular techno music events in Eastern Europe. Following the raid, the police discovered 66 young people who had drugs on them. Criminal files were drawn up against them.
The Sunwaves festival in the Mamaia resort brings, every year, a lot of techno music enthusiasts, both from the country and from abroad. During the May 1st holiday, the police raided the famous music event, where they discovered 66 young people who had drugs on them, from light substances to high-risk narcotics.
In the last 24 hours, 46 people, who had narcotics on them, were picked up from the music festival in the Mamaia resort. The authorities confiscated their banned substances. The individuals were picked up by officers from the Organized Crime and Combating and Anti-Drug Brigade. Several criminal files have been filed and several people have been detained, but the investigation is not yet finalised.
A Dutch citizen, who was found with cannabis on him, stated that he did not know that such a substance was not allowed at the music festival. He chose to file a criminal case.
The people arrested also had high-risk drugs, amphetamines, methamphetamines, ecstasy pills and even cocaine on them.
Following a joint action by the police and the Gendarmerie the previous evening, 130 driving licenses were seized and dozens of criminal cases were drawn up for excessive drug and alcohol consumption.
“I have some recommendations for festival participants. First of all, to identify the first aid points upon entering the festival. Not to consume alcohol or psychoactive substances excessively, and especially not to combine them, because alcohol in combination with certain illicit substances with stimulating properties can put their lives at risk.
To show prudence in the relationship with unknown persons who can offer them certain substances”, said representatives of the authorities for Antena 3.
