The state does not play around when it comes to legislation in this area. The Environmental Guard went to check, and because the irregularities were not fixed in the indicated time, the sanction was a really stinging one. Here are the possible fines.

Fine for field waste. What a drastic sanction the Environmental Guard dictated

Stinging fine for breaking the law. The Environmental Guard authorities intervened quickly, and the punishment was appropriate.

A fine of 50,000 lei was given. Everything happened in Constanța county, where the Environmental Guard detected a town hall that did not pick up the waste from several plots of land.

The respective waste was stored illegally on those lands within the radius of the Bărăganu commune. There had been previous checks by the Constanța Environmental Guard, and the Bărăganu City Hall had the obligation to clean the respective waste lands.

Moreover, according to the previously established measures, the City Hall had to take measures to prevent the storage of waste in unauthorized places.

As the obligation to sanitize the land was not fulfilled, the Bărăganu City Hall promised a hefty fine. The sanction amounted to 50,000 lei.

The commissioners of the Environmental Guard, returned to control, found that the land had not been cleared. At the site, they found recent household waste mixed with inert and recyclable waste.

“As part of the control carried out by the Constanţa Environmental Guard on the administrative-territorial range of Bărăganu commune, a fine of 50,000 lei was applied for the non-taking by UAT Bărăganu of land sanitation measures within the range of the component localities.

During the previous control, three areas where there were illegal waste storages were identified: an area in the town of Bărăganu, the exit to the village of Potârnichea and two locations in the village of Lanurile”, according to the press release of the Constanța Environmental Guard of Wednesday, April 24.

It is not only town halls that can receive such a huge fine when it comes to waste. The legislation also provides for sanctions in the case of individuals or companies that throw garbage and waste in nature.

In addition to the fine, the authorities have the right to confiscate the car with which the respective waste was transported and dumped.

This happened just these days in Timiș. A 26-year-old man has to pay 30,000 lei and was also left without a car, after the police caught him unloading, from a van, more garbage on a vacant lot and setting it on fire.

“The police officers of Section 2 of the Săcălaz Rural Police were alerted through the single emergency call 112 regarding the fact that several people had thrown waste from a van, which they would later set on fire, on an empty land belonging to a former commercial companies from the town of Beregsău Mare.

The police went to the scene, where they found that the reported facts are confirmed, the driver of the van, a 26-year-old man suspected of having committed the crime, was identified,” IPJ Timiș reported.

Individuals caught committing such acts will receive a fine between 3,000 and 6,000 lei. In the case of legal entities, the fines go up to 20,000 – 40,000 lei.
