The new general inspector of the County School Inspectorate is Prof. Mihai Istrate, who replaced Prof. Marcel Mrejeru in this position, starting on Tuesday, by a decision of the Ministry of Education.

Also, yesterday, the Prefect’s Order was given, signed by Virgil Drăgușin.
Mihai Istrate, former sub-prefect, held the position of director of Țicleni Technological High School, a position from which he was suspended. Also, Prof. Marcel Mrejeru returned to the history department.
“My appointment came as a result of Mrs. Mrejeru’s resignation. I was asked to agree to the secondment, as a result, I signed the agreement dated Tuesday, April 23, when I was appointed to this position. It is an order of the Minister of Education”, declared the new “general” of ISJ Gorj.

Reports to the ministry
For now, ISJ Gorj’s priority is the organization of the national Olympics. “In the next period, there are the two national Olympics to be organized. I start this term with these priorities”, said Mihai Istrate.
According to Edupedu.ro, the Control Body of the Minister of Education carried out checks at the Gorj County School Inspectorate, in December 2023 and in April 2024, after the Ministry of Education received several reports from school directors replaced from their positions and from staff didactics claiming abuse by school principals, according to local media, and complaints about alleged violations of education legislation.
