The latest data shows that 71.2% of employers who took part in the latest eJobs survey say that they will offer extra benefits to employees in the company during the Easter holidays this year. 22% have not allocated a budget for this purpose and will not provide anything, and 6.8% have not yet made a final decision on this topic.

As every year, cash bonuses remain the incentive that most of the employees will receive, being mentioned in the answers of 57.1% of the employers participating in the survey. 50% included in the list of benefits and vouchers / gift vouchers, 40.5% will give baskets with products specific to the holidays, and 16.7% offer additional days off. 2.4% will organize raffles with prizes.

How much money do employees get?

“Romanian employees are very familiar with the idea of extra-salary benefits. Both with those from the standard package, which I receive month after month, and with those offered during the holidays. Moreover, according to the survey data, 91.5% of employers say that they have extra-salary benefits for employees. Although the number of employers who prioritize the benefits offered at Christmas is greater, the number of those who allocate a budget for Easter is not small at all, and the budgets exceed, in 31% of cases, the sum of 1,000 lei for each employee”, says Ana Călugăru, Head of Communications within eJobs.ro.

A third of the respondents (33.3%) say that the incentives granted this year, for Easter, will fall within a budget between 201 and 400 lei/employee. 16.7% allocated between 100 and 200 lei for this purpose, 14.3% between 401 and 600 lei, 2.4% between 601 and 800 lei and just as many between 801 and 1,000 lei. Compared to last year, the value of the benefits offered to employees is higher, as declared by 40.5% of employers. 52.4% say they have kept the budget caps the same, 4.8% have lowered them, and 2.4% don’t know.

“There is a high level of correlation between what employees want and what employers offer them when it comes to benefits, even for one-off situations like Easter or Christmas. Thus, when asked which type of benefit they would opt for, 69% of the 2,700 respondents of a survey conducted among candidates chose cash premiums. 25% would like an extra day off, on May 2, and 5% vouchers and gift vouchers”, says Ana Călugăru.

The survey was conducted in April, on a sample of 120 companies, represented by HR specialists, HR managers, department managers and entrepreneurs. The fields with the highest representation were sales, construction / installations, administrative / logistics, IT / software, food, HoReCa and automotive.
