The general strike of Romanian Post employees ended this morning, around 9:00 a.m., after the collective labor contract was signed and registered at the Territorial Labor Inspectorate. In this context, the employees of the branch in Sibiu also returned to fulfill their duties.
“We will not receive even as much as we asked for, but each of us who have low salaries will receive, from what Minister Ivan said, between 350 and 370 lei net, starting from October 1. It was important for us to sign the collective labor agreement and once it was signed, we started work”, said Vasile Herciu, vice-president of the Romanian Postal Workers’ Union, Sibiu branch (SLRP), for Turnul Fatului.

Tuesday evening, the Minister of Digitization, Bogdan Ivan, announced that a final form of the Collective Labor Agreement between the representative union and the National Romanian Post Company had been reached and specified that the employees will receive a salary increase of between 350 and 370 lei net, which will be granted in two installments, from June 1 and from September 1.
We remind you that, on March 20, Romanian Post employees made their grievances public through a warning strike, after all negotiations with the management failed. The main demands were the signing of the collective labor agreement and salary increases. The strikes took place simultaneously in several counties of the country, including Sibiu. Also, the possibility of a general strike was announced as early as Thursday, March 28.
