The Constanța County School Inspectorate continues the project initiated, financed and implemented by the National Union of Romanian Bar Associations, entitled “Be a Lawyer in Your School!”.

IȘJ Constanța signed a new collaboration protocol with the Constanța Bar Association, for the continuation of joint actions of education, information, counseling and facilitating the implementation of legal education in pre-university education in Constanța county, within the project “Be a lawyer in your school!”.

The project, which started in March 2022 and ran until the end of the 2022-2023 school year, was a real success, with the participation of over 8,300 students from Constanta schools.

The recently signed protocol is a continuation of the modules supported by lawyers from the Constanța Bar with reference to basic knowledge regarding the rights and responsibilities of students, their civil and criminal liability, as well as the running of events (competitions on legal topics, mock trials, clubs of legal debates, etc.) and the facilitation of student visits to the premises of law faculties, the bar, courts and other legal or public order institutions.

The two previous editions have enjoyed a success and resonance that honors and empowers us at the same time. Our volunteer lawyers, more than 35 in Constanța county, had a profound impact on the lives of young students. We were happy to see how these students, regardless of their social background or the difficulties they encounter, welcomed the information presented in a relaxed and interactive setting with open arms. It is essential to recognize and appreciate the unconditional support of teachers and parents. They have been with us since the beginning and have seen the positive impact this project has had on their children, said av. Teodora Calipetre, from the Constanta Bar.

For his part, Sorin Mihai, general school inspector, stated: The feedback provided by our collaborators from the Constanța Bar as a result of the project in the previous school year led us to support its expansion in as many school institutions as possible. The activities carried out and the results obtained constitute a real landmark that confirms to us that the intervention of specialists in a complete inter-institutional strategic formula creates a safe informational space for our students who directly expressed, without any coercion, their need to know responsibilities, civil and criminal liabilities.
