Today, in Cotroceni, President Klaus Iohannis is hosting a meeting with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and with the Prime Ministers of Belgium, Alexander De Croo, of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic, and of Hungary, Viktor Orban, the five senior officials are going to discuss about the Strategic Agenda of the European Union for the period 2024-2029.
The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, will arrive at the Cotroceni Palace at 17:30 and will have a discussion with President Klaus Iohannis, the two will also make press statements, according to the agenda sent by the Presidential Administration.
At 18:30 the consultations on the Strategic Agenda of the European Union will begin, which will be joined by the prime ministers of Belgium, Alexander De Croo, of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic, and of Hungary, Viktor Orban.
The Presidential Administration announced on Tuesday the meeting that will be hosted today by Klaus Iohannis at the Cotroceni Palace, at which the strategic agenda for the next institutional cycle will be discussed, more precisely the priorities of the European Union for the period 2024-2029.
“The President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, will host on Wednesday, April 3, at the Cotroceni Palace, together with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, a working meeting dedicated to the preparation of the future Strategic Agenda of the European Union, with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium, Alexander De Croo, the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković.
The consultations organized in Bucharest are part of a wider process of defining the priorities of the European Union for the period 2024-2029, started on the occasion of the informal meeting of the European Council in Granada, on October 6, 2023, when the debates of the leaders of the EU member states revealed the interest in placing, at the forefront of the European agenda, aspects regarding security and defense, global involvement and expansion of the Union, respectively strengthening the resilience and competitiveness of the Union”, the Presidential Administration sent.
