The Prime Minister of Romania, Marcel Ciolacu, appointed a new vice-president at the National Gaming Office (ONJN) on Monday evening. It is about a barber who has no experience in the field, reveals G4Media.ro.

ONJN is the only national authority authorized to authorize and supervise the online gambling and betting market. It is subordinated to the Ministry of Finance.

According to the G4media.ro website, the new vice-president Cristian Gabriel Pascu was appointed at the proposal of the Ministry of Finance. According to his CV, he graduated from a private law school at the age of 32, having previously obtained a diploma in hairdressing.

According to sources cited by G4Media, PNL initially presented a candidate for this position, but the Government rejected the proposal, so Cristian Pascu was appointed to the position.

Previously, Pascu was also a local councilor in the City Hall of Sector 6 in Bucharest and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Innovation and Urban Design Center Sector 6.

Pascu’s experience is mostly related to the beauty industry, where he held administrative positions at several salons. He was also a consultant in the field of construction and technology.

His CV also indicates a period when he was a presenter at Euforia TV, a television station that is currently called Happy Channel, and was frequently mentioned in the tabloid press in the context of scandals in the entertainment industry.

Despite his lack of experience in the field of gambling, Pascu claims that his experience as an entrepreneur and in managing various businesses qualifies him for his new position.

“Strictly in the field of gambling, I cannot say that I have experience in the field. My relevant experience is as an entrepreneur, I had many businesses in different fields. I graduated from law school at the time, I had several experiences of business. In general, in everything I do, I try to do as well as possible,” he said in a discussion with the G4media.ro reporter.

Asked if he could say on the basis of which legislation the National Office for Gambling was established and operates, Pascu commented that he had to document himself. “If you ask me to know the legislation in the field, I really can’t help you, it’s a relatively new field. Consider that the appointment was made last night, now it’s 8 o’clock in the morning and this second you’re asking me to know the legislation. I was appointed there because when I was given a task, I carried it out. Let me get down to business and I’ll be at your disposal with all the details about the legislation,” Pascu said to the quoted source.
