Firefighters from Prahova county intervene, Monday evening, to extinguish a dry vegetation fire that spread over 50 hectares.

ISU Prahova announces, on Monday evening, a fire of dry vegetation – litter, shoots and woody mass, in the commune of Şoimari. The fire spread over 50 hectares.

“There are several outbreaks located at great distances from each other, and the wind makes the firemen’s mission difficult. Real efforts are being made to extinguish this fire,” ISU Prahova said.

Firefighters explain that such interventions are difficult because, most of the time, fire trucks cannot reach the area of outbreaks due to the lack of access roads. Also, there are no water sources in the area.

“Considering the danger generated by these events, we ask the local authorities and citizens to show maximum responsibility in the actions they undertake and to take the necessary measures to prevent the outbreak of fires of this type. The burning of dry vegetation for land sanitation is strictly prohibited,” the firemen also said.
