SMURD Bucuresti-Ilfov employees are going to use motorcycles again to travel to interventions. In the context of the good weather of the last few days, the motorcycle department participated in a training for re-accommodation with motorcycles, reports ISU B-IF.
The instructor explains how, in order to avoid traffic incidents, the training focused heavily on prevention:
I restarted the intersection entry mode. We can talk about a step up and visualize the intersection very carefully (…). It is recommended to signal the direction of travel when entering and exiting the intersection so that other traffic participants can see the direction in which the motorcycle will go.

One of the biggest advantages of SMURD motorcycles is the reduced time spent in traffic. Until other crews arrive, the motorcycle department can provide urgent medical care:
As a rule, motorcycles are the first resources that arrive at the scene of the intervention, the average being 2-3-4 minutes.
