The weather changes radically in Romania. Temperatures drop, strong wind and rain

The National Meteorological Administration has issued an announcement regarding a radical change in weather conditions, following several days of unusually high summer temperatures. According to experts in meteorology, no less than 100 thermal records were set during this weekend, as temperatures exceeded the threshold of 27 degrees Celsius in various areas of the country, writes Antena3.

ANM indicates that new records are forecast for today as well, with temperatures that can reach between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius, especially in the south and east of the country. Even in Bucharest, temperatures will reach and possibly exceed 30 degrees Celsius.

However, starting tonight, the weather will undergo a radical change, due to a cold front that will cross our territory. Wind and rain are expected in the western regions of the country, as well as significant temperature variations, with differences of more than 10 degrees from one day to the next.

“Starting from Tuesday, April 2, the weather will change suddenly, due to the passage of a cold front. It will cause a significant drop in temperatures, accompanied by strong winds, even manifesting in the form of blizzards in some areas. Wind gusts with maximum speeds between 70 and 90 km/h are expected in north-western and locally central and south-eastern regions, as well as in mountainous areas.

The front will also bring moderate rainfall to the western and northern regions of the country. In the high mountain areas, even mixed precipitation is possible in the second part of the day”, announces meteoradar.ro.

What will the weather be like for the next four weeks?

The average temperatures of April will be slightly higher than normal, according to the forecast for the period April 1-29, sent by the meteorologists of the National Meteorological Administration (ANM).

April 1 – 8
The thermal values ​​will be higher than the specific ones for this week, throughout the territory of Romania. With the exception of the northwestern regions, where the amounts of precipitation will generally be close to normal, the pluviometric regime will be deficient, especially in the southwest of the territory.

April 8 – 15
Average temperatures will be higher than those specific for this range, across the country. The amounts of precipitation estimated for this period will be excess in all regions, but especially in the mountainous areas.

April 15 – 22
The average air temperature will be slightly higher than normal for this range, across the country. The rainfall regime will be slightly excessive in most of the country.

April 22 – 29
Average thermal values ​​will be slightly above the specific ones for this week, throughout the territory of Romania. Rainfall amounts will generally be close to normal for this period across most of the country.
