TULCEA: Stolen boat engines from Sweden and Norway discovered by the Border Police

Border police officers from the Coast Guard discovered, in the Mahmudia area and Murighiol area, two boat engines, worth 45,000 lei, reported as assets wanted for confiscation by the Swedish and Norwegian authorities, respectively.

More precisely, as part of a specific action carried out in the area of ​​responsibility for the prevention and combating of cross-border crime, on Saturday, 30.04.2024, within the Murighiol locality, a boat engine was discovered attached to a boat owned by a Romanian citizen. Yamaha brand, 115 hp, flagged as an asset wanted for confiscation by Swedish authorities, according to a press release issued today by the Coast Guard.

Also as part of a specific action, on 29.03.2024, in the area of ​​Mahmudia, border police officers from the Territorial Service of the Tulcea Border Police checked a boat belonging to a Romanian citizen and discovered that it was propelled by an engine Yamaha, 70 hp, .marked in the databases as being wanted for confiscation by the authorities in Norway.

The persons concerned specified the fact that they had no knowledge of the legal situation of the goods and of the fact that they are under the attention of the authorities.

In the case, criminal files were drawn up for the crime of concealment, and the engines in question, worth 45,000 lei, were seized in order to continue the investigations by the border police until the investigations are completed.
