Four men investigated for trafficking in prohibited substances were pre-arrested following two red-handed arrests carried out by the Anti-Drug police from Oradea in Cluj County. The four supplied drug users in Bihor with “crystals”, cheap and very dangerous synthetic drugs.

According to some information sent on Thursday by the Bihor Police Press Office and DIICOT, the four men were pre-arrested in two cases initiated by the Anti-Drug Police of the Organized Crime Brigade and DIICOT prosecutors from Oradea.

The four men were successively caught in flagrante delicto, in the parking lot of a shopping center at the entrance to Cluj-Napoca, from Oradea, during some operations with psychoactive substances.

It is about 2-CMC, methylmethcathinone, drug known on the market as “crystal”, cheap and very dangerous. It has a euphoric effect, increases heart rate and blood pressure, but causes insomnia, anxiety, even psychosis and death.

Thus, in the first phase, the police and the DIICOT prosecutor organized an action to prove three traffickers from Alba county. It is about Popa Răzvan Nicolae, Popa Andrei Lucian and Ferentii Marius Raul. “On the evening of March 25, 2024, 3 people allegedly procured, possessed, handled and sold 600 grams of psychoactive substance, for 21,000 lei”, the investigators say about the men, showing that the 600 grams of “crystal” were found on one of them, during the action.

The second operation took place on March 26, when the investigators caught red-handed, in the same parking lot, a man from Cluj, named Dăncuş Dan Gabriel, immediately after he allegedly sold 1.5 kilograms of psychoactive cysts (2-CMC ), with 21,000 lei.

“On the dates of March 26 and 27, 2024, the prosecutors of the Organized Crime and Terrorism Investigation Directorate – Oradea Territorial Service ordered the detention of four people for 24 hours in two criminal cases,” the Bihor Police statement reads.

On Wednesday, at the request of DIICOT, the rights and freedoms judge of the Bihor Court ordered the preventive arrest of the four drug traffickers for 30 days, a measure that they can challenge at the Oradea Court of Appeal.
