Police arrested five men who disguised themselves as women and offered sexual services to other men, from whom they stole money and jewelry

Five men were detained by the police in Bucharest after, disguised as women, they allegedly posted ads on a website regarding the offering of sexual services, luring other men to apartments where, taking advantage of their inattention, they allegedly stole money and jewelry. One of them allegedly tried to steal even from the home of an injured party, hitting a woman.

The policemen from Section 14 executed three home search warrants and eight arrest warrants, in the city of Bucharest and Ilfov county, in a criminal case of aggravated theft, attempted aggravated robbery, concealment and pimping, thus causing harm to the victims of over 33,000 lei, according to the Capital Police, writes News.ro.

“From the data and evidence administered in the case, it was reasonable to assume that, between November 2023 – present, several men, aged between 22 and 38, through advertisements posted online, under the pretext of offering services sexual, would have attracted the injured persons to the apartments they had rented in the Capital. At the same time, the men in question, disguised as women, would have taken advantage of the inattention of the victims and would have stolen several sums of money, as well as several jewels made of precious metal and a mobile phone”, the source said.

Robbery at the victim’s house

In addition, on February 23, after having provided the services requested by the victim, one of the suspects would have entered her home, located in Ilfov county, without the right, and through physical violence, would have tried to steal another sum of money, along with a 26-year-old man.

Following the searches, several items of interest were identified and seized.

The suspects were heard and later detained for 24 hours, to be presented to the magistrates with a legal proposal.

The investigations are being continued by police officers from the 14th Police Department, under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the 4th District Court, for aggravated theft, attempted aggravated robbery, concealment and pimping.

The action benefited from the support of the Special Operations Directorate of the Romanian Police, as well as the support of the Special Actions Service.

How they acted

According to some judicial sources, following the searches, five suspects were arrested. They disguised themselves as transvestites and posted ads on a website offering sexual services for a fee, and thus attracted several men to various rented apartments in Bucharest, from whom they stole money, taking advantage of their inattention.

One of the suspects, after providing the required services and stealing several gold jewelry and the sum of 7,000 lei, returned and entered the injured person’s home without right, in Voluntari, Ilfov county, where he hit a woman in order to embezzled other sums of money, but he did not succeed.
