OK Shopping Center Bistrita officially opened its doors in the presence of a large audience consisting of politicians, heads of institutions and businessmen.

After the service officiated by a council of priests led by archpriest Alexandru Vidican, followed the presentation of the project by Marius Negrea, from Consult Imobil, the company that transformed the former industrial hall of Ario into a commercial complex after, in 2018, purchased the property from the liquidator of the Ario company, Leonora Lanțoș.

“It took a while before we knew what we wanted to do here. We have had the misfortune to overlap with the greatest crisis humanity has faced since 1929. I started the design during the pandemic, exactly when shopping centers and especially malls were closing down. Our project is a hybrid one. It has a commercial gallery on the ground floor, and in the second stage, on the first floor, we will have an area of ​​shops and services, where we will have restaurants, a food area, and a playground for children. The floor will be closed, it will have controlled temperature”, said Marius Negrea, who thanked all the companies that contributed to the realization of the shopping center, after which he gave the floor to the invited officials.

The President of the Bistrita-Năsăud County Council, Radu Moldovan, congratulated the investor and presented him with a diploma from the CJ. “I’m glad to be here. I believe that such investments must be supported, not blocked or confused, because any competition leads to progress, and such investments made by Bistri residents for Bistri residents must have the full support of the local authorities. I have known Mr. Negrea for some time. He is a daredevil, a man with a lot of courage, who has suffered throughout his life, and all this together brought him to the wisdom necessary to make this decision and to balance the commercial areas of Bistrita municipality. We live in a blocked, suffocated city and with this shopping center things balance out because people from the southern part of the county have the opportunity to do their shopping or spend their free time right at the entrance to the city. Congratulations, I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours. Even if my decision can be contested, I am very proud when companies from our county undertake not very simple things: to fight with the giants, and Mr. Negrea is one of them, he is not the only one, and this should make us happy everyone when businessmen, assuming major risks, make these types of investments and to offer the residents of the county new opportunities”, said Radu Moldovan.

Prefect Teofil Cioarbă stated that “it is a joy to see how a local entrepreneur develops an investment for the community he is a part of and it is appreciable that he brings added value to the community”.

Deputy Robert Sighiartău, designated by PNL Bistrita-Năsăud as a candidate for the position of president of the CJ, welcomed the competition on the market and the fact that new jobs were created. “I want to congratulate the contractor for what he did. I think that Bistrita needed a shopping center because young people also want to have facilities to spend their time on weekends and beyond. At the same time, any activity means additional, better-paid jobs, more money for the county and municipality budget. I met many contractors who worked here, they did an excellent job and I want to congratulate them. I didn’t come with a plaque, but I promise I’ll go buy something. I wish you all the best and much success,” said Robert Sighiartău.

At the inauguration of the shopping center, the president of AUR, deputy George Simion, also appeared, but he was content to just hug Marius Negrea and take a picture with him.

Also present were the vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies Daniel Suciu, the mayor of Beclean Nicolae Moldovan, the manager of the Emergency County Hospital, Gabriel Lazany, the former deputy Ioan Oltean, the former mayor Ovidiu Crețu, numerous heads of institutions.

The shops in the OK Shopping Center Bistrita – which made substantial discounts on the occasion of the opening – were stormed by numerous Bistrita residents since the morning.
