CAS Olt: Replacement certificate of the national health card, VALID until the duplicate card is issued

Residents using a replacement health card certificate until receiving a replacement are informed by the Health Center that it will no longer expire after two months. By an Order of the CNAS president, published in the Official Gazette of March 26, 2024, the extension of the validity of the replacement certificate of the national health insurance card until the issuance of the duplicate card was regulated.

If until now the validity period of the certificate attesting the quality of being insured in the health system was 60 days, thus requiring the periodic issuance of a new certificate, until the issuance of the new card, from now on this certificate will have extended validity until the insured person will take possession of the duplicate card.

From the beginning of the year until now, 3174 card replacement certificates have been issued in Olt County.

“This certificate is issued for insured persons who apply to the health insurance company for the issuance of a duplicate card, in case of loss, damage, theft of the original card or change of the identity data of the holders, compared to those written on the card. The order stipulates that the request for the issuance of the duplicate card, completed and signed by the holder or, as the case may be, by his legal representative or proxy, can also be sent by post or by electronic means of remote communication, provided that it is accompanied by a copy of the act of identity and, as the case may be, other supporting documents, as well as proof of payment of the value of the duplicate card. Duplicate card applicants may be sent the replacement certificate by means of remote communication. Certificates issued up to the date of entry into force of the mentioned order retain their validity period provided for in them.,, explains CAS Olt.

Insured persons who have never had a national health card issued can benefit from medical services, medicines and medical devices without having to show the provider a certificate in lieu of the card.
