Adrian Niță, the prefect of Neamț asked ISU Neamț and the management of Hidroelectrica to evaluate the situation in the earthquake area. The prefect conveys to the population that there is no reason to panic.

“I talked with the Chief Inspector of ISU Petrodava Neamț, Mr. General Ciprian Mitrea, and we made the decision to carry out an assessment in the area.

At the same time, we requested the Hidroelectrica management to communicate the values ​​recorded by the existing seismograph in the dam and if the hydrographic construction was affected in any way.

The National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics announces that on March 28, at 8:36 an earthquake occurred in Neamț, somewhere between Bicaz and Poiana Teiului (see photo). It is one of the rare earthquakes recorded in the county and according to those who recorded the event, it was felt in the area.

“On March 28, 2024, at 08:36:51 (Romanian local time), a weak earthquake with a magnitude of ml 3.3 occurred in MOLDOVA, NEAMȚ, at a depth of 12.9 km. Intensity: II.
