Green Pack, a company from Bucharest, provides retail, production or trade companies with the infrastructure to collect the waste they generate and which can be recycled.

Currently, Green Pack is carrying out investments of over 20 million euros in equipment and machines related to the activity of sorting, transport, recycling, as well as in halls and equipment in the eight branches it has in Romania – in Bucharest, Făgăraş, Constanţa, Timisoara, Cluj, Vâlcea, Bacău and Craiova.

Green Pack, a company from Bucharest, provides retail, production or trade companies with the infrastructure to collect the waste they generate and which can be recycled. The business, founded in 2018, is the third company in the group.

“We address all generators of recyclable or recoverable waste, regardless of whether we are talking about retailers, factories or shopping centers. We ensure that the generated waste is treated appropriately, ensuring as much as possible its recovery through recycling. Thus, we come with specialized infrastructure and qualified personnel to fulfill these objectives”, explain the founders of Green Pack.

According to the data on the Termene.ro platform, the company is owned by PC Management & Consulting SRL (46%), Greenbroker SRL (46%) and Olga Anghel (8%). “Initially, in 2016, we launched Green Knowledge, a company specialized in environmental consulting, with services dedicated to both the business and the public environment. Later, I noticed the need for a company that deals in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way with all types of generated waste. There was a gap in the market, Romania being a country that is still at the beginning of the road in terms of how it manages its waste compared to the other EU member states.”

They started with an online waste trading application, which they later closed down. In the period 2016-2018, they developed three different companies, all with complementary but not similar activities: Green Knowledge, GreenPoint and Green Pack.

Green Pack is the company that carries out the most complicated waste management operations, from collection and transport to destruction, recovery, waste sorting and recycling for mainly industrial customers.

“In the beginning it was more difficult, I used many loans for personal needs and all the savings collected during my time as an employee. The company started with an investment of 200,000 euros in specific second-hand trucks and equipment, purchased from another prominent company.”

Currently, Green Pack is carrying out investments of over 20 million euros in equipment and machines related to the activity of sorting, transport, recycling, as well as in halls and equipment in the eight branches it has in Romania – in Bucharest, Făgăraş, Constanţa , Timisoara, Cluj, Vâlcea, Bacău and Craiova. Waste collection and sorting activities are carried out in each of these. The company’s fleet includes over 100 trucks and machines. Also, the company carries out its activity at customers, in factories and warehouses, in more than 60 places in all counties.

During this period, the Guarantee-Return System (SGR) is one of the programs that brings the largest flow of activity for Green Pack, being a supplier of equipment for retailers. One of the players it collaborates with is Carrefour, to which it has supplied several RVM (reverse vending machine) collection machines.

“The implementation of the SGR is the biggest effort in the direction of environmental protection that Romania has undertaken.”

In 2024, the company set out to focus on niche services it has not yet tackled, such as hazardous, biodegradable or electrical and electronic waste management.

“We are also looking at optimizing investments in the area of plastic and wood recycling, where we are trying to significantly increase production capacity and create an important market.”

Green Pack ended the year 2023 with a turnover of over 120 million lei and over 700 employees. At the level of the entire group, with the three companies, the business is around 260 million lei.

“Last year we implemented two projects of major importance, we invested in RVM equipment for some of the most important retail chains in Romania, an investment of over 6 million euros. The second important investment was the purchase of a high-performance wooden pallet repair line, which was put into operation at the end of the year by the Făgăraș branch. The third significant investment was the installation of the second automatic sorting station in Bucharest and the complete automation of the recyclable waste sorting line. Thus, our installation no longer needs manual labor, because everything is separated by robots.”
