Policemen from the Transport Safety Service, under the coordination of the case prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Constanța District Court, today carried out 9 home searches at the homes of six people, suspected of committing the crimes of theft, embezzlement and concealment.

The 9 searches were carried out in Tulcea, Giurgiu and Galați counties, at the homes of six crew members of a ship under the Romanian flag.

As a result of the activities, 11 plastic containers containing 220 liters of diesel and 1,750 euros were discovered and lifted, in order to continue the research.

The damage caused is 245,000 lei.

We specify that on January 8 of this year, the police detected, in flagrante delicto, three members of the navigational staff of the respective ship, while they allegedly sold 1,500 liters of diesel stolen from the transport tanks, to two men.

The ship was moored on the bank of the Danube – Black Sea Canal, between the communes of Poarta Albă and Castelu. 4,400 lei were discovered and collected on the persons in question, in order to continue the investigations.

The investigations are continued under the coordination of the case prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Constanța Court.

Police officers from the Tulcea, Giurgiu and Galați county police inspectorates, as well as fighters from the Constanța Special Actions Service, participated in the searches.
