Movies: Rebel Moon The Scargiver maintains the level of the first part, that is, it is just as weak

--

I’d like to make it clear at the outset that I’m not surprised that it’s a weak film. I didn’t expect a masterpiece. The first part was also very weak and so it was expected that the second film, released at the same time as the first, would be the same.

It’s really funny how low it can go though. They just fooled him with decisions that make no sense, thrown into the script for the sake of being… I don’t know, special? unusual? different? But different like when you want to dress differently from others to stand out, so you go out on the street in a bathrobe and slippers, thinking that this way you successfully demonstrate that you don’t follow other people’s norms.

Let me give you an example. That big ship in the movie ran on coal. I’m not kidding.

The ship is the one below, it’s some sort of large battleship, the pride of the empire, something like that.

At one point, the main character arrives completely unverified by anyone in the engine room. The room initially looks spectacular, yellow “energies” circulate from below and blue “energies” come out upwards. It looks like Star Trek, I mean. If you look closely, the engine is even shaped like a human head with those cables going through it, which is a unique gothic design of sorts.

Then our actress jumps off this catwalk and lands about 10 feet below, where she shoots them all. Down there were piles of coal, piles and piles, and workers shoveling it into the furnaces.

You can see the shovels in their hands and the oven doors.

Or it would have been pellets, I don’t know. That was the ship anyway. Analyzing everything better, I’m not surprised that it ran on coals. And those big mechs they attack the village with seemed to run on diesel engines. They also looked overcooked on that ship

For reasons that escape me, those people who in the era of superlight engines and space empires loaded coal into the engine were also very dedicated to the Empire, despite their very low-level jobs. They decide to fight to the death with our heroine, they with shovels, she with a pistol in her hand all day long. It is resolved quickly.

Finally, the film is the story of a farming village’s fight against the big ship that attacks them using battlemechs, professional soldiers, near-laser swords and shields… they didn’t have. And the villagers win, of course, after preparing for 3 days. I do not wonder that the empire was on the duke.

That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t watch the movie if you have Netflix. It’s 2 hours of action and fun if you approach it with the right attitude. There’s just no reason to subscribe to Netflix to watch it if you don’t have a subscription.
