Moscow’s troops are dealt a humiliating blow after reports emerged of a Russian pescador sinking during a training exercise.

The incident, which took place on March 19, resulted in the loss of three crew members of the pescador “Kapitan Lobanov” and the injury of four others.

The vessel was engulfed in flames after being hit by a missile during a Baltic Fleet exercise, according to Russian media, cited by the Daily Express.

According to a report by Russian news page TvRain on Telegram, a relative of one of the crew members revealed that the fishing vessel was hit by a missile during the training exercise.

A crew member of the pescador Kapitan Lobanov confirmed… that the vessel was accidentally hit by a navy missile. As a result of the missile strike on the pescador Kapitan Lobanov on March 19, three crew members were killed and four others were injured… The missile that hit the pescador was launched during an exercise of the Baltic Fleet… Next of the incident, the crew members of the pescador were going to bed when a rocket fell into the captain’s cabin“, shows TvRain.

The survivors were transported to a hospital in the city of Pionersky, with one of the victims in serious condition.

Tv Rain also informs that the victims were interrogated in the hospital by officers of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, who asked them not to disseminate information about the incident.

According to the source, another missile fell into some fishing nets near the industrial vessel MRTC, which was located near the fisherman Kapitan Lobanov.

Russian media reported that during exercises on March 19, the Russian corvette Boikiy conducted practice artillery firing. After the firings were completed, the crew practiced hitting the ships of a simulated enemy with Kh-35 anti-ship missiles from the electronically-launched Uran missile system.

The publication Militarnyi also reported that Admiral Yevmenov, the commander of the Russian Naval Forces, was dismissed.

Citing their own sources, the journalists reported that the commander of the Northern Fleet, Alexander Moiseev, was appointed acting commander of the Russian Naval Forces.
