Ty Dolla $ign came to Romania for the first time, Friday night, in Hala Laminor, to celebrate six years of Hip Hop Takeover.

The artist has over 27 million monthly listeners on Spotify and dozens of popular tracks with artists such as Kanye West, Camilla Cabello, Jason Derulo and The Weeknd. In February, he released a collaborative album with Kanye West, called “VULTURES I”, which collected billions of listens collected from all music platforms.

Hip Hop Takeover (HHT) is a concept initially launched in Bucharest in 2018 by the organization The Takeovers that consists of parties where the predominant music is hip hop and its subgenres. The parties with underground music caught on well with the public and slowly spread throughout the country.

On April 26, HHT celebrated 6 years since the initiation of the concept and on this occasion organized an anniversary party where the rappers DOC, Deliric and Oscar took the stage, and the headliner was the American rapper Ty Dolla $ign.

The stage, located somewhere in the middle, made it possible for the hundreds of partygoers to sit to the right or left of the stage, not just in front, which provided enough space and visibility for the participants.

Ticket prices ranged from 125 to 250 lei. On the other hand, the prices at the bar were quite high: a beer cost around 17 lei, a Cola 15 lei and a cocktail varied from 35 to 40 lei.

Three food trucks were also present at the event, mainly with fast food, where a burger cost around 40 lei and a portion of potatoes almost 20 lei.
