Chisinau, April 27 /MOLDPRES/. Today, we honor our flag and work for European Moldova – so that, in the shortest possible time, our tricolor can be found, in a place of honor, next to the flags of the other member countries of the European Union. The message was sent by the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, in the context of marking today’s National Flag Day, informs MOLDPRES.

“The State Flag is the symbol of the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Moldova, of our unity, solidarity and identity. Today, we honor our flag and work for the European Moldova – so that, in the shortest possible time, our tricolor can be found, in a place of honor, next to the flags of the other member countries of the European Union”, said Cristina Gherasimov.

State Flag Day was instituted by the Chisinau Parliament on April 23, 2010. The tricolor was officially designated as the state flag on April 27, 1990.
