Sorin Grindeanu: The European Commission approved TAROM restructuring aid

The aid was approved on Monday.

“The European Commission approved the TAROM restructuring aid today! Its value is a maximum of 95.26 million euros, of which 49.53 million euros represents the individual rescue aid granted in 2020 (to which the related interest is added). I want to thank the representatives of the European Commission for deciding to support TAROM, one of the oldest brands in the European aviation industry”, Minister Sorin Grindeanu announced on Facebook.

The minister also said that TAROM will use this money to renew the aircraft fleet, optimize destinations and commercial policy, apply solutions to make aircraft maintenance activities more efficient, digitize the company and improve the IT environment, including ticket distribution programs and cover the deficit of liquidity for the year 2024.
