Serious accident in Covasna, on DN10. Three drivers arrived at the hospital, after a 19-year-old man drove the wrong way

A serious accident took place this morning, in the area of ​​Sita Buzăului, Covasna county. Three people were injured following an accident involving three cars and a tanker. The accident was caused by a 19-year-old man, who entered the car in the opposite direction.

“Following the investigations carried out by the police, it was found that a 19-year-old young man, who was driving a car on DN 10, from Braşov to Buzău, at kilometer 105 + 150m, in circumstances to be determined, entered the the opposite direction of travel and collided head-on with another car traveling from Buzau towards Brasov. Two other vehicles, a tanker and a van, each behind one of the cars involved in the collision, ended up in the ditch on the side of the road , in an attempt to avoid the hit cars”, reports IPJ Covasna.

Three victims arrived at the hospital

Following the accident, the 19-year-old, as well as two other men, both drivers in two of the other vehicles involved in the event, received medical assistance and were later transported to the hospital for further investigations. Three of the four drivers could be tested with the breathalyzer, the results indicating the absence of alcohol in the exhaled air.

Research continues in the framework of an open criminal case for personal injury due to negligence, with the aim of clarifying all the circumstances related to the occurrence of the road accident. At the moment, the traffic at the place of the event takes place alternately, in one direction, under the direction of the police.
