The far-right Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, was slightly injured and transported to the hospital following a car accident, the Israeli police announced.

The images broadcast on social networks showed a car that overturned. Two other people were also injured, and the circumstances of the incident are being investigated, the police said, quoted by the BBC.

The Israeli media said that Ben-Gvir was returning from the scene of a stabbing in the city of Ramle, near Tel Aviv.

A 19-year-old woman was seriously injured in that incident, according to the emergency services. Central District Police Chief Avi Biton said a man who allegedly had mental health problems attacked the woman and was then shot and “neutralized” by a civilian.

Ben-Gvir is a controversial member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s emergency government.

He recently called for a large-scale military response from Israel against Iran, following Tehran’s missile and drone attack on Israel, which in turn was prompted by an Israeli attack that killed senior Iranian military figures in the Iranian consulate in Syria.

Also, Ben-Gvir pleaded for the relocation of Palestinians from Gaza and supported the calls for the restoration of Jewish settlements in this area.
