Ready to serve you — The staff of FloridaWild is ready to serve you, and your pet, for all of your veterinary health needs. FloridaWild doctors, in back, from left, are Dr. Jessica Hathaway, Dr. Kelly Ejnesm and, in front, same order, Dr. Callie Ward, Dr. Sarina Barbara, Dr. Kathleen Quigley, Dr. Pamela Schrager and Dr. Sandra Villanueva.

FloridaWild’s goal is to treat every client as if they were family, and to treat every pet like their own. “Being of service to our patients is the definition of our purpose and the mission of our practice and is the exact reason that we are opening our doors for urgent needs 7 days a week,” Medical Director Dr. Pamela Schrager shared.

FloridaWild Integrative Veterinary Center & Urgent Care proudly integrates Western and Eastern medicine to help their patients live their best lives. “An Integrative Practice offers all of the services that are expected of a traditional veterinary practice, but also offers traditional Chinese veterinary medicine (food therapy, acupuncture and herbal therapy),” Dr. Schrager said.

Along with cutting-edge complementary therapies like ozone therapy, the integrative approach allows more treatment options for both FloridaWild’s regular patients, and their urgent-care patients. “The goal is simply to have more tools in our toolbox to take the best possible care of our patients,” Dr. Schrager said.

FloridaWild is open seven days a week, and each pet will be provided with treatment tailored to their individual needs. “Each pet we see has a unique set of needs,” Dr. Schrager said. “We will offer many options and create a plan that our clients are comfortable with for our routine and our urgent-care patients.”

Urgent-care services are new at FloridaWild. The hospital’s commitment to the well-being of pets, and their owners, has no limits, and the urgent-care services will allow FloridaWild to help more pets, and more people.

After an urgent-care visit, FloridaWild recommends that owners contact their primary care veterinarians for a follow-up appointment. Dr. Schrager stated, “We will ensure that all patient exam notes, and diagnostic test results, are completed and sent home with you so that you may provide them to your primary care veterinarian.”

Urgent Care FAQs

Call ahead to be added to the waitlist. Patients will be prioritized and triaged based on their symptoms and conditions.

The urgent-care exam fee is $110 and will be due at the time of service.

During urgent-care treatments, you will be asked to wait in a waiting area or your pet’s exam room, and staff will give you regular updates on your pet.

FloridaWild Urgent Care will see: dogs, cats, avian, small mammals, and reptiles.

Wait times can vary and will be based on the severity of each pet’s condition.

Payment options are available through CareCredit – the application can be completed at home before you arrive.

If your pet needs a treatment that requires sedation, you do not have to stay on-site. The staff will contact you when your pet is ready to go home.

The doctors and nurses at FloridaWild shared that it was clear to them that there was a huge need for urgent-care hours and service. They said, “We are thrilled to provide this to our community and look forward to working with everyone to help our pets live their best lives.”
