Dozens of locals and tourists had fun, on the Transalpina, at the hosts’ party. The celebratory atmosphere with traditional food and songs around the fire was the original way to spend Easter for a family from New Delhi, arrived in the gorge lands.

Dozens of locals and tourists gathered in Plaiul Ungurenilor, on the Transalpina. At the householders’ party in Novaci, everyone brought Easter goodies from home and filled the table outdoors around a campfire.

Among them, there was a young woman who came precisely from India, together with her husband and two children, to spend Easter in Gorjenese lands.

The woman from New Delhi was delighted with our traditions which she said were quite similar to those of India.

Asun, the young woman from New Delhi, said she was fascinated by the traditional food and customs here.

“We are lucky because we will learn more about Easter. It is similar to our tradition, Holi, which we celebrate in India. In the same way, we also have these woods, where we make the fire and walk around it and have a lot of good food”, said Asun, the young woman from New Delhi, to observatornews.ro.

“Thank you to the people from Novac who got involved with products for the picnic and who provided the musical part! We were delighted by the presence of people who came from hundreds of kilometers, from big cities, some great personalities of economic and cultural life in Romania and from other countries, who appreciated the warm, relaxing, friendly atmosphere, the beauty of the landscapes offered by Transalpina and the gastronomy local!

We were happy to find that many of those present were the children of Novacians, off to study or with jobs in the big urban agglomerations! To our happiness, the roots bring them home!”, it says on the Facebook page of Novaci City Hall.
