The Easter Fair in Sibiu opened its doors today, April 26. In sunny weather, the first visitors have already enjoyed the festive atmosphere. This year, the fair will last 12 days, and the houses full, mostly with Easter decorations, are waiting for visitors to discover them.

Decorations, jewelry and food

Sibiu residents and tourists who arrive in Piața Mare during this period have a choice of several items to take home with them. Silver jewelry, decorations with Easter eggs and bunnies, scented candles, but also macrame paintings are just a few of those exhibited at the small houses in the center of Sibiu.

As for the traders, the novelty this year is that two of the boxes are given to Child Protection and representatives of refugees from Ukraine.

“They are decorations that we made together with the people from the center, or rather we instructed them to make them. The prices are 15, 20, 25 lei, depending on how much work was done on each one,” said Ioana, from the Empowerment and Rehabilitation Center for Adults with Disabilities in Mediaș.

On the gastronomic side, those with an appetite will find pancakes, coffee, homemade chocolate, and langoustines at the Easter fair, all of which are complemented by artisanal ice cream and traditional Easter baskets. The price of a simple langos is 10 lei, and a langos with mujdei, finetti or cream costs 20 lei.

Fun for kids

Children who arrive at the Easter fair have several options to spend their free time. The carousel, the bunny pen, the train on rails, the tourist train, the jumping area, the bouncy castle and the go-kart track are among the activities that the little ones can do in the Big Square.

Also, those who want to keep a memory of the Easter Fair, can choose to take an instant photo, which costs 15 lei.

The fair will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The event that has become traditional (the first edition took place 15 years ago) is organized by the Events for Tourism Association.
