Accident at the intersection in the West Industrial Zone, where a roundabout was required. A taxi driver did not give priority

Two people were transported to the hospital following an accident that happened on Friday at the intersection between DJ 143B (Rusciori – Sibiu) and DN 7H, announced Elena Welter, spokesperson of IPJ Sibiu. It is about the intersection where there have been several accidents with victims in the past years. In order to avoid them, several companies and individuals requested the construction of a roundabout.

In today’s accident, a 57-year-old taxi driver, traveling from Rusciori, entered the intersection with DN 7H without giving priority and collided with a car driven from the A1 towards the airport by a man in age 35, from Avrig.

The 57-year-old driver and the passenger in the car he was driving, a 52-year-old woman from Rusciori, suffered bodily injuries and were transported to the hospital conscious, the police report.

At the time of writing this material, traffic is difficult in the area.

A SMURD crew with a doctor, an extrication vehicle, a fire extinguisher, a SMURD motorcycle and a SAJ crew intervened at the scene of the accident to provide first aid. A 57-year-old man with a lumbar injury was taken by the EMS crew and a 52-year-old woman was taken by the EMS crew with a shoulder injury.

Both victims are transported to UPU Sibiu conscious. Another victim refused transport to the UPU.

The Western Industrial Zone roundabout is not being built because no institution wants the road
