What is the “sovereignism” that George Simion and AUR want to “bury” us in? Viktor Orban supports him

The GOLD doctrine (let’s say it exists) is built around a single word. That is “sovereignty”.

AUR demands that we reinvent the Romanian industry with the factories of the past (it is not said how), that we build highways with Romanian companies (we only have one – UMB that is panting), that we make Mamaia a Romanian Dubai and stay at home, on the domestic coast, etc. .

There is no speech by the AUR leaders that is not imbued with this “sovereignty”.

Finally, somewhat more clearly, Simion announced that “AUR aims to obtain a clear and strong mandate in the European Parliament, to represent the firm voice of the Romanian people within the European Union, advocating for sovereignty and national interests”, it is stated in the resolution called, how else, “Electoral year 2024 – between sovereignty and sovereignty”.

Claudiu Târziu or Cristian Terheș, the routeist (ex-PSD) who opens the AUR list for the European parliamentary elections, often talk about sovereignty.

At the same time, to defend us from outside dangers because we have neither planes nor fleet, and we have to be self-sufficient. Without getting into political philosophy (the AUR is not even interested, it just wants power, proof that the overwhelming majority of those it proposes for Brussels are political trailblazers interested in the AUR only as a springboard to the fat salaries in Brussels), there is a doctrine of the popular sovereignty of the French philosopher Rousseau.

How is “sovereignism” popularly translated?

In the view of George Simion and AUR, sovereignty means that the EU does not interfere in our internal affairs or, to put it in Romanian, where the pot is not boiling. Let them give us European funds, let NATO defend us if we are attacked by someone, but let them not touch the ancestral glia, the family, the church, or faith (they don’t touch either). In other words, here in Romania, let no one blow us into the soup, here let only us (George Simion and AUR) be masters forever.

And, of course, to manage the billions of earth’s riches on our own as AUR demands in its Governance Program. And as Liviu Dragnea requested, a few years ago, when he was in power.
