The prefect of Prahova county, Emil Drăgănescu, said, on Thursday evening, for Agerpres, that 42 people were evacuated, who went to relatives, with the exception of one safe family. Through a decision of the Local Committee for Emergency Situations Slănic, the town hall asked the commercial agents who have accommodation units in that area to support those affected.

According to the data published on the Facebook page of the Department for Emergency Situations, during the meeting of the County Committee for Emergency Situations, following the preliminary assessment made by experts co-opted to solve this situation, several preventive measures were taken.

Therefore, the security perimeter was extended, by evacuating a block of stairs of a nearby building, the police station, and an economic operator. Also, traffic, both road and pedestrian, was completely prohibited in the area of ​​this perimeter, according to the cited source.

At the same time, specialized measurements will be made daily in order to determine if the ground continues to move. Steps will be initiated to carry out the specialized expertise to establish the exact cause that led to the subsidence of the land, DSU notes.

Also, the situation is constantly monitored at the central level, and operative crews of the IGSU, the Romanian Police and the Romanian Gendarmerie are on the spot with the aim of optimally managing the situation, DSU mentions.

The headquarters of the Slănic Prahova Police, located in the risk area, was also evacuated. The employees moved the files, but also the furniture, reports Antena 3 CNN. Geologists and construction experts from the Emergency Inspectorate were brought to the area by Black Hawk helicopter.

“Considering the emergency situation produced in the town of Slănic in Prahova county, generated by the subsidence of the land, followed by the formation of a crater with a depth of approximately 2 m on an area of ​​over 60 square meters, at the level of the MAI there was an analysis through which the Secretary of State, Head of the DSU, Dr. Raed Arafat, ordered a team of DSU and IGSU personnel to be dispatched to the site, to be supplemented as soon as possible with construction and mining specialists.

At the same time, the evacuation measure of the people in the vicinity or in the affected area was ordered until all the checks are carried out by the specialists in the field. The mission is dynamic. We will come back with additional information as soon as possible”, reports DSU.
