FCSB is closer than ever, in the last nine seasons, to the long-awaited title. In 2015, with Constantin Gâlcă on the technical bench, the team patronized by Gigi Becali won the Superleague title. Now, nine years away, FCSB already has one hand on the champion’s trophy, having a reassuring lead of 11 points at the top of the ranking over the second place holder, the University of Craiova.

In the game in the play-off round, on their own field, Elias Charalambous’ team prevailed 2-1 in the duel with Sepsi Sf. Gheorghe, thanks to the goals scored by Florinel Coman and Alexandru Băluţă. Debeljuh scored for Sepsi.

Before the match with the Superliga leader, Sepsi is in last place in the play-off standings, with only one victory obtained in the first five contested stages. On the other hand, FCSB has an almost perfect course. It is the only undefeated team, with four wins and one draw in the five stages played.
