Another video from Hualien captured a massive landslide on the mountain, with clouds of dust engulfing a section of the road and nearby buildings.

In the capital Taipei, in the north of the island, video shows people on a subway clinging to the rails as the carriage sways violently. Other images captured the moment metal beams fall from the facade of a building during the earthquake.
