Bizarre death in Vaslui. A man working in a forest was crushed to death by a tree

A 47-year-old resident of Vaslui, who was working in a forest in Chiţoc, died on Monday, April 1, 2024, when a tree fell on him. The police have launched an investigation and are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

An Ambulance Service crew was called to the scene of the incident, which performed resuscitation maneuvers, but could not do anything to save the man’s life.

“The Vaslui municipality police were informed, by calling 112, about the fact that a 47-year-old man from the town of Chiţoc was hit by a tree in a forest in the town. The ambulance crew sent to the scene performed resuscitation maneuvers, but without any result. The man’s body was transported to the Vaslui Forensic Medicine Service, in order to carry out the necropsy”. said the spokesperson of IPJ Vaslui, Oana Şopu.

The police have opened a criminal case in this case for manslaughter, investigations have been carried out to accurately establish the circumstances of the reported event and order legal measures.

Bizarre accident in Vaslui as well

Another bizarre incident took place in Bârlad on March 6, 2024. Two men who were working on the exterior of a house were injured, after one of them fell from a scaffold onto the other who was supporting the scaffolding on the ground. Both men were picked up by ambulances and transported to the hospital.

A 61-year-old man climbed a scaffolding to carry out work on a house, and from the ground, another 67-year-old man supported the structure.

At one point, the man on the scaffold lost his balance and fell from a height of about four meters, and in the fall he hit his colleague below.

Following the incident, two ambulances were sent to the scene.

“The 61-year-old man presents a cranio-cerebral trauma with a fronto-parietal wound, and the 67-year-old man presents, at a first assessment, a shoulder trauma and a lower limb contusion”, stated the representatives of the Vaslui County Ambulance Service.

The two victims were transported to Bârlad Hospital.

Crushed by a wheel of the car he was working on

Another strange accident took place in Brăila on June 3, 2019. A 59-year-old man lost his life then, being crushed by a wheel of the car he was working on to repair, then being dragged a few meters by the vehicle, which stopped in a fence.

The incident took place in the Braicar depot, the local public transport company from Brăila. The 59-year-old man was working on a repair car, and at one point the vehicle started moving, and one of its wheels passed over his body, crushing him.

The car continued to move for a few more meters, finally stopping in a fence. The victim, a former bus driver with 40 years of experience, was working on the company’s emergency vehicle, and at the time of the accident he was alone in the depot.

From the first checks, it emerged that the vehicle was out of gear, but had not been secured, in the event that the surface where it was parked was not completely flat.
