Today, March 29, 2024, the cable car that facilitates access to the Deva Citadel was put into operation and is available for those visiting the historical monument.
The new elevator has a capacity of 30 people. The investment included: the modernization of the inclined transport facility, the control systems and their functional safety, the modernization of the two stations (departure and arrival), the arrangement and reworking of the waiting area in the pedestrian area at the foot of the Citadel Hill, the resizing of the technical rooms in the two stations (departure, arrival) for new flows of tourists, modernization of sanitary facilities, adaptation of ramps for people with neuromotor impairments to the standards and regulations in force.
Benches, trash cans were installed in the waiting area, outdoor LED lighting was installed, ornamental trees and flower borders were planted. Also, the statuary group of gymnasts was illuminated architecturally.
The cable car operates daily from 10:00 to 19:00.
A ticket for a round trip for adults costs 20 lei.
Children up to 14 years old and pensioners will pay 10 lei/round trip.
People with disabilities have free access.
This investment is part of the development strategy of the municipality of Deva in terms of the promotion, development and capitalization of the natural and cultural heritage as well as the development of economic activities in the field of tourism.
