The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine confirms that the Ukrainians killed in Germany were soldiers.

ÎTwo men born in 1987 and 2001 were killed on April 27 in the territory of a shopping center in the city of Murnau am Staffelsee (Bavaria). Ukrainians were stabbed. A 57-year-old Russian citizen was detained on suspicion of double murder.

According to preliminary data, the deceased citizens were soldiers undergoing medical rehabilitation in Germany. Ukrainian consuls clarify information about the units where the deceased served and establish contacts with their relatives“, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The killing of Ukrainians in Germany: what is known

As reported by the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN, earlier, German police reported the killing of two Ukrainians aged 23 and 38 in Murnau. It was reported that the men were found with stab wounds on the premises of the shopping centre.

The older man died on the spot, the younger – at the hospital. The police found and detained a 57-year-old Russian man. It was later learned that he was arrested.

German media reported that Ukrainians may have known the attacker. He has not only Russian, but also German citizenship.
