The Minister of Labour, Simona Bucura Oprescu, announced the deadline when pensions will arrive by card, but also by mail.

Simona Bucura Oprescu emphasized that the promise made by the Government regarding the delivery of pensions before Easter will be fulfilled. Thus, all pensions will be paid by May 3 at the latest, both those transferred by bank card and those delivered by Romanian Post.

“The government, at the request of Marcel Ciolacu, approved in Thursday’s meeting the two normative acts that ensure the advance payment of pensions related to May 2024. Already on Friday, the Ministry of Labor and the Pension House transferred the money to the Romanian Post for the payment of pensions.

Until April 30, we transfer the money necessary for the payment of pensions and to the banking institutions with which we have concluded agreements so that they also transfer them on May 2 to the pensioners.

Our estimates are that they will definitely make the transfer no later than May 2nd so that the money on the card arrives no later than May 3rd. I personally spoke with each manager of the 22 banking institutions so that we work synchronously so that the pensions reach the beneficiaries. The assurances from the Romanian Post are that the pensions will reach the pensioners through the postal factors. About half of the money is received on the card, the other half through the postal factors, even if this means that the postmen work more”, said the Minister of Labor, Simona Bucura Oprescu, on Antena 3 CNN.
