Although the minimum wage has increased for Romanians, and the governing coalition promises new increases, the measures applied have not helped the people much.

In fact, Romania continues to be among the last places when we talk about the level of minimum wages in European states. In this context, a Romanian woman decided to show what the prices are in a supermarket in Switzerland, in a video posted on Tik Tok.

Although it is one of the richest countries in the world, we learn that the prices of food products are close to those in Romania. In some cases, they are even cheaper than the ones we find on store shelves in our country.

In fact, the woman who presented the situation says that she lives in Germany. However, very often they prefer to come shopping in Switzerland, considering the quality of the products, but also their affordable price.

The Romanian woman says that an organic milk can be bought for less than 2 francs. At the same time, promotions can be found, an example being given in the video posted by her: 10 kilograms of sugar for 9 francs.

“It’s not a cheap country, but I think it makes up for it. Of course, the prices or higher than in Germany. But the gross minimum wage is also around 24 francs per hour.

One organic milk, 1.95 francs, 10 organic eggs, 7.95 francs. Own brand yogurts, 0.60, the butter we like very much, for 200 grams, 3.6 francs. A kg of this coffee is almost 17 francs. A kg of own brand coffee, 6 francs. Beef prices start at 33 francs”says the Romanian.

The woman also says that the price of a kilogram of chicken in the supermarket in Switzerland starts from 7.35 francs and can reach up to 20 francs. However, the quality is very good, as the Romanian claims.

As expected, the video sparked hundreds of reactions from netizens. Many concluded that the prices are the same or maybe even lower than in Romania. However, the salaries of citizens are very different.
