“In this way, a continuity of the central area, Union Square, will be achieved as a unitary treatment of the entire area, for the enhancement of the tourist attractions, ensuring an appropriate pedestrian access and a recreation area adjacent to the attractions in the area”, reports the mayor’s office.

The local councilors approved the technical-economic indicators for the SF phase regarding the rehabilitation of Concordia Square, thus rethinking the Rahova Square area near the Partium University.

This project involves the transformation of the area of approximately 2562 square meters into a semi-pedestrian one, bounded by the Aachvas Rein Synagogue, the Reformed Orașul Nou Church and the Buna Vestire Orthodox Church, currently being a street with a sidewalk.

After the modernization process, the area will include green spaces, paved spaces, urban furniture, photovoltaic public lighting, infrastructure adopted to allow access for disabled people, two boots, and will benefit from wifi connectivity.

“The square will be paved with porphyry and green areas will be laid out on an area of 302 square meters, provided with low vegetation and 20 pieces of red maples,” adds the source mentioned above. The total value of the works amounts to almost 15 million lei, and the duration of the execution of the works will be 24 months.
