75-year-old driver, killed in an accident in Sadova commune

A 75-year-old man died and five people were injured following an accident yesterday morning, on DN 55, in Sadova commune. After the first investigations, the police established that the 75-year-old driver lost control of the direction and entered the opposite direction, where he hit a car that was traveling legally.

According to the law enforcement officers, the accident was allegedly caused by the 75-year-old driver himself.
“Police officers from the Police of the City of Bechet were alerted to the occurrence of a road accident in the Sadova commune. The police went to the scene and established that a car driven by a 75-year-old man, from the Rojişte commune, on DN 55, within the radius of the Sadova locality, for reasons to be determined following the investigations, would have penetrated on the opposite direction of travel, colliding with a car driven by a 25-year-old man from Bechet. “Unfortunately, the 75-year-old driver died as a result of the road accident,” said the law enforcement officers.

As a result of the impact, the 25-year-old driver was also injured, as well as three passengers in the car he was driving. A woman was also injured, a passenger in the car driven by the 75-year-old man.

The Dolje firefighters sent a work truck, a truck transporting people and multiple victims, an ambulance and a medical first aid crew to the scene of the accident. The Dolj Ambulance Service intervened with three ambulances.
The Dolje policemen also explained that the 25-year-old driver was tested with the breathalyzer, the result being negative.
