Hidroelectrica, one of the most important suppliers of electricity on the Romanian market, announces a price increase for a specific category of consumers. Customers who have a contract with Hidroelectrica, a company in which the state is the majority shareholder, receive proposals to extend their contracts during this period.

“Dear Customer, In accordance with the contractual provisions of the supply contract, we submit to you the proposal to modify the commercial conditions provided in Annex no. 2 to the contract.

Regarding these new commercial conditions, you can express your agreement or disagreement in accordance with the indications in the attached notice.

In the event that you agree to these commercial conditions, the supply contract will be extended by 12 months, during which the new tariffs related to active energy will be applied” is the message received by customers.

Thus, Hidroelectrica customers will pay a rate of 0.9 lei for one kw, almost 10 pennies more than before. This tariff is subject to the ceiling imposed by the Government, of 0.68 lei/kwh for a consumption between 0 and 100 kwh/month and 0.80 lei/kwh (VAT included) for household customers whose monthly consumption is between 100.01 and 255 kwh.

For comparison, in the previous offer, from January 1, the price varied between 0.70160 lei/kWh, for customers in Bucharest, and 0.78454 lei/kWh for customers in Oltenia.

We also remind you that Hidroelectrica’s previous offer was also valid until June 30, but it seems that the company decided to come earlier with a higher price.

The final price of Hidroelectrica is therefore slightly above the lowest price capped by the state, of 0.68 lei/kWh. But for customers who consume less than 100 kWh monthly, the company will apply the price of 0.68 lei, according to Economedia.
