Romanian managers expect price increases in industry, construction and trade – News Brasov

Romanian managers expect for the next period an increase in activity in construction and an increase in prices in the manufacturing industry, construction and retail trade, according to the latest conjuncture survey of the National Institute of Statistics, which covers the period March-May.

The short-term balance indicates the perception of enterprise managers on the dynamics of a phenomenon. The percentage conjunctural balance is obtained as the difference between the percentage of managers who chose the positive version of the phenomenon and the percentage of those who indicated the negative version.

As part of the business situation survey in March 2024, the managers from manufacturing industry predicts for the next three months, a moderate increase in production volume (short-term balance +9%). Regarding the number of employees, relative stability is estimated, the short-term balance being 0%. For the prices of industrial products, growth is forecast in the next three months (short-term balance +17%).

According to estimates from March 2024, in the activity of Building there will be an increase in production volume for the next three months (short-term balance +19%). Managers estimate relative stability in the number of employees (short-term balance +5%). Regarding the prices of construction works, their increase is expected (short-term balance +32%).

In the sector retail managers have estimated for the next three months, a moderate growth trend in economic activity (current balance +13%). The volume of orders addressed to suppliers of goods by commercial units will register a moderate increase (short-term balance +12%). Employers forecast for the next three months, an increase in the number of employees (short-term balance +18%). Managers of commercial companies estimate an increase in retail prices (short-term balance +26%).

According to estimates from March 2024, the demand for services (turnover) will show moderate growth in the next three months (short-term balance +8%). Relative stability of the number of employees is estimated (short-term balance +4%). According to the managers’ opinion, the selling or invoicing prices of services will have a moderate growth trend (short-term balance +13%).
