According to the star club, this is new evidence that FRF does not respect Steaua and its supporters.
In a statement sent, Steaua Bucharest emphasized that the official name of the club is “Clubul Sportiv al Armatei Steaua”, and the use of another wording is unacceptable. The club believes that this mistake could mislead supporters and requests the FRF to quickly correct the team name in all official communications.
“It is a new testimony of the Romanian Football Federation that they do not respect Steaua and its supporters. After we were treated with a different unit of measurement compared to other clubs, now we have a new mistake from the Disciplinary and Ethics Commission. We remind them everyone, including FRF employees, that the official name of our club is Clubul Sportiv al Armatei Steaua. We hope that it is a technical editing mistake and that FRF does not intend to create confusion among our fans,” reads the press release issued by Steaua Bucharest.
Moreover, the star club requested the FRF to take immediate measures to correct this mistake and thus avoid similar situations in the future. “And to make it easier for you in the future and to avoid creating any more problems, you can simply call us STEAUA BUCHARESTI!”, concluded the press release issued by the Bucharest club.
