Windows 11’s Start menu, a key design element from Microsoft, continues to be the subject of controversy among users, especially after recent changes. Despite a mixed reception from Windows 10 users, Microsoft has rolled out new features and improvements in the latest beta versions of Windows 11, responding to community requests.

Recently, Windows 11 Beta users discovered a new look for the “All Apps” section, a significant change compared to the current option. The new design combines grid and list elements, thus optimizing space and efficiency. This issue was first spotted in its raw form, and after successive tweaks, Windows 11 build 22635.3566 introduced significant improvements.

In addition to improved context menus and alphabetical sorting, Microsoft has added application shortcuts folders to the new design, which include additional options such as uninstall or help. Microsoft also removed the lines between the sort letters, making the design more subtle and visually pleasing.

However, while the new All Apps theme in build 22635.3566 brings many improvements, it still has some shortcomings. Users have reported that when clicking on shortcut folders, the Start Menu can crash, showing that Microsoft still has work to do in this direction.

Microsoft is aware of these issues and, according to sources, does not plan to ship this new design in its current state. The company promises that it will continue to work on improvements and that future versions of Windows 11 will address these issues, providing a more stable and efficient experience for users.

It is obvious that Microsoft is putting a lot of emphasis on user feedback in the development of Windows 11, and despite the challenges, it is committed to providing an operating system that not only meets current needs, but also pleasantly surprises with new and optimized functionalities. Windows 11 users are encouraged to test new beta versions and contribute to the continuous improvement of the operating system.
