Daniel D. is accused of having supplied Germany and Scandinavia with cocaine and cannabis, the Romanian underworld with weapons and of having tried to eliminate one of his collaborators from Romania.

According to the General Prosecutor’s Office in Frankfurt, he was previously a leading member of the Hells Angels for the Costa del Sol and was “headquartered” in Marbella.

He was also at the helm of Comanches MC, which emerged from the Danish offshoots of rockers Satudarah, and is said to have had contacts with another prominent band, Bandido.

“He has family ties to Romania”

The 40-year-old was running a car rental company as a cover. An arrest warrant had also been issued against him in Romania, for arms trafficking and attempted murder.

An investigator stated for Bild that “Daniel D. is a German citizen, born in the district of Main-Kinzig, the state of Hesse, but has family ties to Romania”.

Grupos Operativos Especiales de Seguridad (GOES) forces stormed Daniel’s villa in Benalmadena, 40 kilometers from Marbella on the Costa del Sol, and his car rental company.

The leader of the network was taken by the hair, the officers found a loaded Glock .357 SIG 2 caliber on the mattress. There was a machete in the bag of Harleu’s motorcycle, which would be handy.

The court in Spain will decide if and when Daniel D will be extradited to Germany or Romania. This can take up to four years in Spain!

The police officers from the Criminal Investigation Service of the General Directorate of Police of the Municipality of Bucharest announced, at the end of 2022, in a statement, that they detained Marius Lazăr, the leader of the Romanian branch of the Hells Angels biker group.

On his behalf, the Bucharest Court of Appeal issued a preventive arrest warrant on December 15, 2022, with a view to his extradition to the US authorities, being investigated for crimes of organized crime, international high-risk drug trafficking and money laundering.

He was extradited early last year, and in November 2023, the US State Department announced that a jury had convicted Lazar of conspiracy to commit racketeering, importing cocaine into the US and conspiracy to launder money. He was facing a life sentence.

In 2020, a large DIICOT action supported by American police led to the arrest of dangerous drug traffickers, among them the leader of the Hells Angels Bucharest motorcycle club. At the time he was caught, Marius Lazăr was negotiating the assassination of a rival by members of the network he belonged to.

Surveillance drones were used during the searches, and 12 motorcycles and two luxury cars, large sums of money, a lethal weapon and 100 grams of cocaine were found in a warehouse.

Lazar had in his house, at the time when the masked men came upon him, 50,000 euros in cash and the title deeds of two buildings, representing part of the payment for the amount of cocaine that should have arrived in Romania and that he was going to distribute it further to New Zealand and Western Europe.

According to the investigation, Lazar also planned to sell armored cars, AK-47 weapons, M26 grenades, pistols and bulletproof vests produced in Serbia.

The Hells Angels Motorcycle Club is the most famous motorcycle club in the world, founded in California in 1948. In the USA, the group is classified by the authorities as an organized crime syndicate.
