These days, Romania is hosting the eighth edition of the international STOP Cancer symposium, an event dedicated to personalized translational oncology to combat cancer. The event, which takes place in a hybrid format, includes over 70 presentations given by specialists from Romania, the United States of America, Western Europe and Canada on topics related to oncological diseases, but also the innovations that can be used in their treatment, such as would be artificial intelligence and how it can be used in this field.

Specialists from Romania, the USA, Western Europe and Canada are participating these days in the eighth edition of the international STOP Cancer symposium. The event, which started on Wednesday and lasts four days, takes place in a hybrid format and includes more than 70 presentations by surgeon-oncologists, radiotherapists, medical oncologists, anatomopathologists, bioinformaticians and researchers in the field of fundamental sciences, from several continents.

“Together, we aim to promote dialogue and the exchange of ideas to advance cancer diagnosis and treatment. During the four days, the symposium will include over 70 presentations given by prestigious specialists from Romania, the USA, Western Europe and Canada. The symposium presentations are divided into the following sections: Translational Oncology, Molecular Pathology, Genitourinary Cancers, Leukemias, Psycho-Oncology, Sarcomas, Brain Tumors, Breast Cancer, Endocrine Cancers, ENT Cancers, AI (artificial intelligence) in cancer, Bronchopulmonary cancer, Varia, as well as satellite symposia that will deal with topics such as hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs)”, inform the organizers.

The Translational Symposium on Personalized Oncology (STOP Cancer-Romania) is organized under the auspices of the Transdisciplinary Society of Personalized Oncology for the Fight against Cancer, in partnership with the Association of Cancer Doctors from Romania (AMECRO) and under the auspices of the National Society of Medical Oncology from Romania (SNOMR). This year two of the extraordinary speakers are Daniel David, Professor of Neurocognitive Sciences, Rector of Babeş-Bolyai University, Research Director of the Albert Ellis Institute in New York, USA and President of the International Institute for Advanced Studies in Psychotherapy and Applied Mental Health) and Bota, professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine, USA, vice dean for clinical research at UCI and director of the Alpha Clinic of the Stem Cell Research Center at UCI.
